Mother and Child Hospital Achieves SafeCare Level 3 Certification
At Mother and Child Hospital, Eastleigh, we are proud to announce that our facility has been awarded a SafeCare Level 3 certification following our recent assessment conducted on 16th September 2025. This is our second SafeCare assessment, and the results reflect our steady progress toward building a culture of safety, quality, and accountability in healthcare.
What is SafeCare and Why Does It Matter?
SafeCare is an internationally recognized quality improvement program that helps hospitals measure, improve, and maintain high standards of healthcare delivery. Think of it as the KEBS of hospitals. Just as KEBS ensures your sugar isn’t mixed with sand and your sockets don’t catch fire, SafeCare ensures your hospital provides treatment that is safe, efficient, and respectful.
The SafeCare program is accredited by ISQuaEEA, the gold standard in global healthcare quality, and covers everything from patient rights and risk management to infection prevention, staffing, medication safety, and facility management.

Why This Matters for Our Patients
SafeCare is not about perfection. It’s about progress. A Level 3 certificate shows that Mother and Child Hospital has established solid systems for safe care delivery while working on continuous improvement. For our patients, this means:
-
Safer procedures and treatments.
-
Stronger rights protection.
-
Better management of emergencies.
-
More reliable medical information systems.
-
A hospital that’s accountable, transparent, and serious about quality.
Looking Ahead
We are already developing a Quality Improvement Plan that tackles the gaps identified in the assessment.
Like KEBS doesn’t stop checking your maize flour, SafeCare ensures hospitals don’t stop checking themselves. And at Mother and Child Hospital, we’re committed to this continuous journey of raising the bar for safe and compassionate care.
